Melt Away Body Butter

Since I love experimenting with my oils, I decided to create my very own body butter. I truly enjoy figuring out more ways to include them into my daily regimen.

When I put body butter on, it feels like I have an added lining on my skin. I get the sensation that I’m less exposed to the elements in the environment, along with giving me the ability to ravish myself in CPTG* essential oils…for a healthy alternative to chemicals on my skin.

Body Butter Recipe

Drops      Essential Oil

30            Lavender

25            Rose

20            Myrrh

10            Frankincense

10            Juniper Berry

10            Geranium

1 cup        Coconut oil (unfractionated)

1 cup        Shea butter

2 Tbsp     Almond oil (wanted to use Sweet Almond but didn’t have any)

1 Tbsp     Vegetable glycerin

1 Tbsp     Rose water

1 Tbsp     Jojoba oil

½ Tbsp   Rosehip seed oil (last of the bottle or I would have done 1 Tbsp)

¼ tsp      Vitamin E oil

Double boil the Shea butter in a glass bowl.
In the meantime, put all other ingredients in a bowl and use your mixer to blend well.
Once the Shea butter melts completely, take off the heat, and allow it to cool for 5-10 minutes.  Blend with other ingredients. Mix thoroughly.

My main goal: get all of the good stuff in the butter.

I used a ton of essential oils in this blend. When I read what each of these essential oils can do for me, I love the idea of incorporating them into my daily routine.  My skin looks forward to getting oiled-up, and it feels awesome to know that I’m putting something good on my skin.

(Psssst: I added 10 drops of Wild Orange to my recipe, but with the photosensitivity of many citric oils, I didn’t want to worry it would cause you concern.)

Body butter is great for after-shower moisturizing. As we’ve been told, don’t towel-dry after a shower. With body butter, you don’t have to! Let the moisture sink into your skin as you massage down your arms and legs. The butter melts right in your hand!

After just a few minutes, the butter is melted and leaving a soft touch on your skin.

Since a lot of the higher priced oils are being used, this is a more costly butter to make, but I think it’s worth it since it’s providing me with benefits.
