To use Natural or Not to use Natural…That Is the Question

Can Essential Oils Really Help Your Health?

I believe yes, absolutely they can. It’s called chemistry! More healthcare professionals are starting to ask questions about the use of essential oils when it comes to their patients. Either the patient is asking them, or they are seeing the trend of companies that are promoting their products. Whatever the reason, it’s about time. Finally, we will begin to see the benefits that essential oils can have for their patients. And unlike prescriptions, there are little to no side effects. Plus, there is a growing list of research that will back up the potential of quality essential oils.

You have to wonder why you’re seeing all of these companies putting essential oils in their regular-standing products.

 QUESTION IS…are they pure?

The never ending list of uses can only be seen when purity is involved. That’s why I chose doTERRA. They offer CPTG (certified pure therapeutic grade) essential oils and they back it up with their research and their continued standards that must be met. AND, since quality regulations are virtually non-existent, knowing where my oils come from and how they are created is critical to ensuring safety and effectiveness.

To use natural or not to use natural…that is the question

Everybody loves scents. Well, almost everybody 🙂 For those who do, keep this in mind when choosing your product:

  • Is it chemical free?
  • Is it natural and 100% pure, or
  • Does it just say it’s 100% pure??

Companies everywhere are now adding essential oils and carrier oils, like coconut and jojoba, to their regular products. Why do you think that is? Is it because people are starting to realize there is potential?

With that said, you might ask why essential oils won’t offer benefits:

  • Will the opportunities of essential oils be ruined because of companies who don’t use quality, natural oils?
  • Will the public believe that they don’t work because they didn’t see any improvements…because they were using a product with unnatural additives and preservatives?
  • Will the public believe they are getting 100% pure, natural essential oils in a product, just to discover they are only getting a few drops within an unnatural substance? How many drops of oil are in there…and are they synthetic or natural???

To use natural or not to use natural…that is the question

Precautions of Essential Oil

Always test for skin sensitivity prior to widespread use and use on the feet when possible. Dilute for use with children or infants, and use on socked feet to avoid the possibility of their getting in their eyes. Excessive use of any oil can lead to skin sensitization. Keep out of eyes, ears, or nose. As with any citrus oil, it may cause photosensitivity when exposed to sunlight within 12+ hours of use. Use at night, or only on unexposed skin to avoid a reaction. Not all oils are created equal, so test brands carefully and never use an oil in a way not recommended by its maker.
